A Stand Up Backstory...

The UGLY Stand

It is a stand that took me a few tries to get it right.

It is a folding stand that I came up with to help me out with my practical shooting. I had some wooden and metal stands that were big and bulky.

...it is a folding stand.

At the range others started seeing and liked the idea of a lightweight foldable target stand, hence The Ugly Stand was created.

Is it ugly? No, not really.

I started making them out of steel and painting them. I got asked about powder coating the stands, well after research that’s going to be more money added to the cost.

I wanted to keep the price down since things are already so expensive.

...a few attempts later I got it.

I was at a friend’s house helping him out, and he had some aluminum angle laying around. I grabbed a few pieces of that and started playing around with it, a few attempts later I got it.

The Ugly Stand was born. I know they are not ugly. I say ugly only because you do not do any painting, polishing, or anything to make the appearance better. However I receive the aluminum is how I pass it on to you. All I do is to add the holes, deburr the edges and holes, and assemble. The less I touch it and add to it, the more I can keep the cost down and pass that on to the consumers.
